We are building an Earth Roofed home on our farm in Dixon California. The kit for the steel frame came from Formworks building in Durango Colorado. The steel structure and rebar have just passed inspection so our next jobs before we cover the house in concrete are to install all the electrical conduit, water and internet conduit. For more information about these homes go to www.formworksbuilding.com

A friend off mine made this film back in 1997 when we were building our first two strawbale houses. It feels a bit outdated but it is a good film; specially on DVD, which you can order at frans.y@telia.com

I built my passive solar straw bale house with earthen plasters in 2000 for $50K (will most likely cost more today, depending on many factors). This is an overview of the house; it is extremely energy-efficient. My electric bills are about $35 per month.
